Bulawayo has for many years been the cultural hub of the country and this has not changed. From classical music recitals to energetic traditional Ndebele dances to the beat of the African drum, the city has a very diverse artistic expression. Live concerts, theatre productions, open mic poetry, religious conferences and pub nights…it all happens in Bulawayo. We also have a very active sporting culture with some of the country’s most notable and successful professional football teams, Highlanders FC, based here. There are leagues for every sport from darts and karate to basketball and rugby, and just about everything in between.
