What Is Alliance Francaise de Bulawayo?
Alliance Française de Bulawayo is a Franco-Zimbabwean non-profit and public benefit organisation.
Its mission is to promote the French language and cultural diversity in Bulawayo. At Alliance Francaise, French is our language, our business and our passion. Our team of trained and certified professional teachers endeavour to give you communication skills right from the start.
We offer task-based and interactive learning courses, based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), from level A1 to C1 that can accommodate all ages. Alliance Française de Bulawayo and its Annexe in Victoria Falls offers french courses at the institute, in schools, in the tourism industry and for corporates.
Alliance Francaise is accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education to offer the official and internationally recognised French proficiency diplomas DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes de Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française).
Being a member of the Alliance Française de Bulawayo gives you access to a world of culture and exciting social events. By becoming a member, you contribute towards the running of the association and its activities. It is easy as one has to complete an application form and pay the required membership fee at the Alliance offices. The membership is valid for 1 year, from the date paid. You will also have access to our library offering a large number of books and films to choose from!

The Alliance Française follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which classifies the language proficiency in 6 levels, from beginner (A1) to bilingual (C2).

Alliance Francaise de Bulawayo Cultural Events
As a cultural centre, the Alliance Française of Bulawayo organises a number of events throughout the year; including concerts, exhibitions, conferences, workshops, film screenings, and much more!
Every month, we organize A French movie night, French storytellings for kids, a Ciné Club for kids, and we schedule or a concert, or an exhibition, often both. Other events are also happening with various local artists.
March is generally the highlight of our cultural season with the celebrations of “La Semaine de la Langue française et de la Francophonie” (Week of French language and Francophonie). “La Fête de la Musique” (World Music Day) is celebrated every year in June.
